Our mission is to provide individuals with physical and functional barriers access to economic development opportunities; our focus is to assist persons with significant barriers to self-sufficiency to obtain competitive employment and increase their independence.
History
FIWI has a long and successful history of providing workforce development training and services to customers throughout the State of Florida.
- 23 years providing employment and training services for persons with disabilities
- 22 years operating Job Training and Placement Act (JTPA) and Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Adult training and employment programs
- 14 years operating JTPA and WIA Youth and Dislocated Worker training and employment programs
- 12 years providing Welfare Transition services to eligible participants
- 6 years as a One-Stop Manager and WIA Core, Intensive and Training Services Operator in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties for the South Florida Workforce Board
- 5 years as a Core Service and Welfare Diversion Service Provider for the Alachua and Bradford County Workforce Development Board
- 5 years as a Younger Youth and Older Youth Opportunity Center manager and provider of case management services
- 5 years of providing comprehensive assessment services to Welfare Transition and WIA customers within a One-Stop environment
- 3 years as the Adult Program Services Unit service provider for the Flagler Volusia Workforce Development Board/Center for Business Excellence
- 2 years as a Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration, Work Incentive Grantee in Alachua and Bradford Counties
- 2 years as the One-Stop Manager and provider of core, intensive and training services in DeSoto, Hardee, and Highlands Counties for the Heartland Workforce Development Board
